Help for FA II New Video Card
Is it risky to update your video drivers? I have a NVIDIA TNT2 modle 64 card, there is a 8+meg driver update for it off there website available. any tips or do's or don'ts anyone can help me along with/ Your help is greatly appreciated It's usually wise to have the most up to date drivers available.

I want to get a new video card for it & I know I have to remove the old video card drivers first. The problem is that the video card drivers DO NOT appear under the ADD/REMOVE programs list in Windows XP. So how does one remove the old video card drivers if they are not listed? Thanks. Got a reply to my bug report
Using the most current NVIDIA video card drivers, I cannot set the BIOS to boot AGP first. If I do, Windows doesn't show the secondary monitor in display properties. Using an older version of NVIDIA video card drivers, all works It would appear that new driver has a BUG. Let NVIDIA know, That might be a good idea.

However, you can get drivers direct from S3. Please keep in mind S3 also discontinued support for this card as well.

Some video cards/drivers work fine with DPMS, some don't. If using the 1.04 drivers and non-DPMS method of handling display power-off works, then stick with it. And you can pretty much infer the answer to your question regarding a "sure way to wake up the monitor.."; it all depends on the BIOS and other firmware
